Participation of the Graduate Program in School Psychology, NKUA, at the 46th International School Psychology Association Conference, July 16–19, Coimbra, Portugal

Within the framework of the 46th International School Psychology Association Conference, a Roundtable titled "Critical Issues in Social Justice Training and Practice in School Psychology: Trainers’ and Students’ Perspectives" was organized by Professor Sissy Ηatzichristou, Past President of the International School Psychology Association and Chair of the ISPA School Psychology Trainers Task Force.

In the first part of the Roundtable, Professor S. Ηatzichristou and faculty members/instructors of graduate programs in School Psychology from various countries (Brazil, USA, Italy, UK) participated, while the second part involved graduate students from the respective programs, including K. Papaioannou, a student of the Γraduate Program in School Psychology, NKUA.

Professor S. Ηatzichristou and Professor S. Jimerson also presented the collaboratively edited international volume:Hatzichristou, C., Nastasi, B., & Jimerson, S. (Eds.). Handbook of School Psychology in a Global Context: Transnational Approaches to Support Children, Families and School Communities. Springer. https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-031-69541-4 This volume includes chapters covering all areas of contemporary approaches, research, education, and practice in School Psychology, with contributions from colleagues working in educational systems across different countries.

Additionally, the following symposia were organized: (a) “Advancing Social Justice in Schools: Promoting Mental Health and Positive School Climate” — participants included Professor Ch. Hatzichristou, Assistant Professor A. Lampropoulou, Dr. V. Nikolopoulou (E.DI.P.), graduate students K. Papaioannou and A. Sakka, and alumni A. Giannakopoulou and L. Petsis. and (b) “Social-Emotional Competence in School Communities: Enhancing Teacher Efficacy, School Climate, and Child Adjustment” — presentations were delivered by alumni A. Giannakopoulou, L. Petsis, and N. Rozi.

Finally, within the conference framework, alumnus A. Giannakopoulou was awarded the Cal Catterall Fund Award.
